Check On Me!

2 October 2009 2 Comments

It’s out.  I saw it in the bookshop window in Albert Park after having coffee with my mum and dad and if there’s a good time to see your own book in a shop window, that would be it.

Oh, darling, said Mum

Did you do that?  said Dad.

Very exciting.  Hopefully you’ll have an oh darling moment when you have a look at it, too.

Andrew, I bought a copy of ‘Check on Me’ when I heard you speak at the Williamstown Library on Monday. My 2 year old LOVES it, in particular the page where the boy and his father share with each other what they did that day. He asks me to read that page over and over, and go through the little illustrations that accompany them, as if he is fascinated with what each of them do each day. Thank you also for your insightful and inspiring talk at the Library.

    Hi Andrew,
My Year 2 class and I have just finished reading your book Letters To Santa. We have now written our very own letters to Santa from a lot of different animals and thought you might like to see them. Is there an address we can post them to? (We don’t need them back, we would just love you to read them).
    Thanks for your wonderful books,
    Jennifer McDonald and 2M,
    Oatley West Public School.
    Sydney.
