It’s out. I saw it in the bookshop window in Albert Park after having coffee with my mum and dad and if there’s a good time to see your own book in a shop window, that would be it.
Oh, darling, said Mum
Did you do that? said Dad.
Very exciting. Hopefully you’ll have an oh darling moment when you have a look at it, too.

Coming out in Oct 2009
This is the new book by Andrew and illustrator Jonathan Bentley. The same tame that brought you I Do It – the picture book inspired by Andrew’s daughter who was pretty sure she could do anything – everything!
Check On Me is in a similar vein and inspired by one of Andrew’s kids. Jonathan was able to take the text and turn it into something truly beautiful.
These are some of the test sketches done by Jonathan, you’ll love the real ones, out October 09 through ABC Books.

Colouring in for Kids

Below are some illustrations for you to download and your kids to color in. They’re test drawings for the book and have now been finished off by Jonathan. I wonder if your colours will be the same as his. All Coluring in images are PDF’s, you can down load the Adobe Reader here if you don’t all ready have it.

Angus Humpleberry’s story as he grows up. He can handle the ‘blokey’ bits of getting older okay, but he is wholly unprepared for the ‘girly’ bits. When he finally passes his farm motorbike licence, he takes his grandpa’s bike out for a spin without permission. He runs to Billy Wesson for help, but they discover the motorbike has gone missing.
Will Angus get the bike back before Pop finds out?

Fergus is growing up and so are his mates. Including Winona Williams, who Fergus has feelings for, he’s just not that sure what the feelings are all about.

This story deals with the trials and tribulations of young love: crushes, first dates, first kisses and getting the facts-of-life talk from Mum and Dad.

Fergus is growing up and so are his mates. Including Winona Williams, who Fergus has feelings for, he’s just not that sure what the feelings are all about.

This book will teach you exactly nothing about relationships and being new to them, but it will make you laugh.

Have you thought about what you’re going to do if you get dropped? What will you say? How will you act? Will you care? Of course you will (not)…

Sam, who’s 13 said

This book is about The hilarious stories about a boy, Fergus Kipper avoiding embarrassing parents, an annoying sister, and a grandpa who wants you to enter a bowls competition. A girl has invited Fergus to the movies and Fergus wants a new haircut.

The best thing about this book is The descriptive writing that cracks you up every time.

I didn’t like the way I couldn’t stop laughing for hours.

You might like this book if you also enjoyed Books by Andy Griffiths

A good place to read this book would be On holidays in the car

If this book had a soundtrack, it would be Eat It-Weird Al Yankovich

Anything, everything – whether it’s getting a glass of milk or choosing her clothes or going for the most colourful (and heaviest) bowling ball – she does it. It’s what I love about children of this age…. that they can and may well try just about anything. Having said that, it’s not a story of self-empowerment. There is no moral here, no message and certainly no lesson. It’s just about a girl who thinks she can, and to me, that’s as beautiful and perfect as every three year old can be.’
